摘要

This paper examines the effects of convective-diffusive water vapour transport through leakages in building components. The governing equation of this transport mechanism is presented together with the possibilities of its numerical solution by means of a finite element method. A case study based on a failure of a swimming pool is included in order to show application of the numerical solution and significant consequences of combined water vapour transport. General suggestions on how to avoid moisture defects in building components and building construction are presented in the final part of the paper. Details of the mathematics of the finite element modelling are presented in a technical appendix
