This book was developed with the agreement of Stirling himself, and Geoffrey Baker has given himself a meticulous brief in resisting the tendency to write only on Stirling, but to include the partners too. This procedure, once resisted by publishers, is thankfully correct, and Baker gives each former partner his due. The year preceding publication in 2011 was a remarkable one for the research and published documentation of the architecture of Sir James Stirling and those partners.
