八丁堀・櫻庵

The site, just large enough to park a car, was closely surrounded by buildings on three sides except the facing road. The advantage of this site was 'praise the cherry tree' out in front, 'live vertically on a small, central plot rather than far away from the city, that was answer we found to. The design began with the hope of raising a steal tower with small steel frame member over the small plot. The whole process, however, was not so easy. The height of the building had to be limited by preventing from pile-driving due to costs and by the building's proportion. But difficulties were not only in the designing.%敷地は車1台がやっと停まるスペースで，道路以外の3方向は隣家が境界ぎrnりぎりに迫る。そのような敷地のよりどころは，前面道路の桜並木「桜を愛でる」rnこと，都心から遠く離れて暮らすより，狭い土地でも容積を利用しながら空高rnく住む，それが我々の見つけた答えだった。
