JR HAKATA CITY

摘要

JR Hakata City is a complex building consisting of station facility as a key function, stores, restaurants, cinemas, and a large hall. In the design, we aimed that Hakata city became not just a simple station building but a facility which activates the Hakata area. The site was not large enough and other conditions were also severe, but we used various ideas, especially about planning and structure, to overcome them, such as making the building floors above the train tracks to enlarge the floor or using mega-truss structure for pedestrian decks.
