The project aim is to rebuild Lhe theater for students from generation to generation on the site where Mr. Tadashi Suzuki, one of most famous dramatists and stage directors in japan launched a theater company called Waseda Sho-gekijo.Our theme is to create an anonymous space with flexibility to accommodate it to every kind of drama style. As various drama circles in university with about 800 student participants prepare, play, and withdraw in a weekly cycle, "temporality" is an important character. For example steel pipes 48.6mm in diameter are fixed interior as well as exterior to allow users to install stage properties freely. The internal space, slightly covered by the steel screen facade which implies stage curtain, connects neighborhood and theater and play a role as terrace-like foyer, giving a glimpse of audiences and performers to the street. At the same time this space mediates the ordinary life and festive performance. We expect activities by students arise from this facility expand to the neighborhood and create the future of Waseda, a drama town
