Part of artist Jeff Koons's "Antiquity" series, the Balloon Venus sculpture was inspired by Venus of Willendorf, a tiny Paleolithic figurine discovered in Austria and which dates from 23,000 b.c. Balloon Venus proposes a new kind of idol: a modern-day goddess of love who embraces her beholder in her reflective curves.
