摘要

Anticipating last autumn' relaunch at the Museum of Modern-Art [MoMA] in Manhattan, Gluckman Mayner Architects helped to reconceive a key moneymaker, notes Craig Kellogg. Patrons in slow motion murmur aesthetic judgements, and a silly amount of money changes hands. But this is not Sir Norman Foster's year-old Asprey flagship, a Modernist temple to luxury shopping in Manhattan's Trump Tower. Not exactly. This is around the corner and down the street, inside architect Yoshio Tanaguchi's spectacularly expanded Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), where general admission now costs $20. MoMA doesn't show diamonds as Asprey does.
