Sarat Babu is a material scientist and designer. He is founder of Betatype, a material design and research firm focusing on developing advanced hybrid materials using additive manufacturing for future products. In addition, he is currently a musculoskeletal device designer in the Department of Surgery, Imperial College London, and a doctoral candidate on the EngD VEIV programme, University College London (UCL) via employee secondment. He holds degrees in materials science and engineering, industrial design engineering and virtual environments imaging and visualisation, and has an Industrial Fellowship from the Royal Commission of 1851.
