摘要

It is strange now to consider just how much we focused outward in the past. We believed in migration to the moon or Mars as the only way forward for our civilisation. I am thankful our actual approach was far more down to earth; a focus inward on the cosmos of our buildings and their influence on the health of our bodies. Here, in 2050, we put human wellbeing at the heart of our building designs, and the result has been nothing short of remarkable. We knew as far back as the early 2000s that a sound indoor climate with fresh air, reasonable thermal comfort, healthy materials and natural light was as vital to our health and productivity as nourishing food and deep sleep are for our bodies. It took us far too long to recognise that creating a resilient society held the key to financial success.
