There is an enormous amount of thinking going on in response to the February 2009 bushfires in Victoria. As architects, how can we respond in a way that contributes and furthers current thinking?rnTo think about the thinking...rnIn this issue we have brought together a collection of thoughts from various perspectives and professions. Our aim is to encourage further discussion and facilitate this with this issue. We have invited an array of contributors from architects directly involved with the rebuilding and their personal accounts of working in the devastated communities. But we have also sought out others such as the work being conducted by the Australian Psychological Society and SenioT Researcher Dr Susie Burke discussing community resilience and overcoming the psychological issues and anxieties associated with such trauma.
