摘要

The transformation of Ormond College Academic Centre, a 1961 octagonal building designed by Frederick Romberg, is a truly exemplary project. In working with the strong geometry provided by the two storey pavilion, the architects have succeeded in creating a place of exceptional quality, making bold moves where necessary and minor changes where not. The jury was impressed with the strongly research-driven brief reflecting the desire expressed by the client - that a building can change its occupants' behaviour and in doing so, can assist in changing the existing college culture.
