MESSRGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

The annual awards process is arguably the most important event on the Institute's calendar and recent innovations have resulted in significant increases in member participation. This year we had a record 236 entries submitted in the 2012 Victorian Architecture Awards. In the categories of Public Architecture New and Residential Architecture Houses Alterations & Additions there were 34 and 35 entries respectively and the extent of entries led to the decision to spread the presentations to juries over a two day program. We thank Cox Architects and Monash University for hosting the extraordinary sessions on the Friday afternoon and the Saturday sessions at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, again with great success.
