In recent years, the natural gas industry has been faced with more and more bills for legislation both nationally as well as on the European level which are clearly not in keeping with risks. The industry association SGWA has therefore developed a safety assessment method, designed for gas lines of 1 to 5 bar, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, based on statistical facts and which encompasses the extensive knowledge of the gas industry on risks. This method proven in hundreds of applications is based on the modern, integral risk comprehension and takes into account the environment, including the buildings potentially affected, in addition to the pipe line itself.%Die Erdgasbranche sieht sich in den letzten Jahren sowohl national als auch europäisch vermehrt konfrontiert mit Gesetzesentwürfen, die eindeutig nicht risikogerecht sind. Der Branchenverband SVGW hat deshalb in Kooperation mit den zuständigen Behörden eine neue Sicherheitsbeurteilungsmethode für Gasleitungen 1 bis 5 bar entwickelt, die auf statistischen Fakten aufbaut und das breite Wissen der Gasbranche über die Gefahren einschliesst. Die in vielen hunderten von Anwendungen bewährte Methode basiert auf dem modernen integralen Risikoverständnis und betrachtet neben der Rohrleitung auch die Umgebung und die potenziell betroffenen Gebäude.
