Valuation and the Appraisal Institute in a Global Economy: The European Initiative

The European Intitative is an outreach program of the Appraisal Institute designed to respond to the growing need for uniform international valuation standards and demands arising from the globalization of real estate activities. This article surveys a series of international developments that are important to U. S. and foreign appraisers, including real estate in a international market, international valuation standards history, development of the Eropean Union, and an explanation of the European In itiative.
