At some time in their careers, most appraisers will be confronted with assignments that involve the valuation of a property that has been impacted by a detrimental condition. Although the appraisal of damaged properties brings up complicated and unique problems, these situations can be addressed with the application of fundamental economic principles and traditional and innovative valuation techniques. Real Estate Damages: Applied Economics and Detrimental Conditions provides a framework for studying the vast number of detrimental conditions that can affect properties. Although the process of identifying, categorizing, and analyzing detrimental conditions may seem overwhelming, the task becomes manageable when the fundamental stages and value effects are considered in a logical sequence.
