Each year The Appraisal Journal presents the Armstrong/Kahn Award, the Swango Award, and the Richard U. Ratcliff Award for the best articles published in the Journal during the previous year. The awards are announced in the Spring issue of The Appraisal Journal. Each of the awards carries a $1000 honorarium. The following summarizes the criteria used in selecting the award-winning articles. The Armstrong/Kahn Award is presented annually for the most outstanding original article published in The Appraisal Journal. Articles are judged on the basis of pertinent appraisal interest, provocative thought, logical analysis, perceptive reasoning, clarity of presentation, and overall contribution to the literature of valuation.
