I am pleased to announce that Richard Clarida is joining me as joint editor of Applied Financial Economics with immediate effect. Rich is the C. Lowell Harris Professor of Economics at Columbia University. Not only is Rich a leading academic researcher in the field of international finance and monetary economics, he also has a wealth of applied experience in policy and financial markets: he was Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy to the US Treasury 2001-2003 and is also Global Strategic Advisor and Executive Vice President of PIMCO (Pacific Investment Management), New York.rnRich Clarida and I shall be working hard to take Applied Financial Economics forward with a number of initiatives, including beginning this year with a double issue on the Global Financial Crisis. We shall also be commissioning a number of signature articles and surveys from leading scholars in the field of applied finance.
