Specific features of power-supply systems for industrial three-phase ac plasma generators

The article considers the conditions for static stability of the operating point on a plasma generator's current-voltage characteristic. It is shown that in order to provide for dynamic stability of the plasma generator's are its power-supply system must possess filtering properties in relation to higher harmonics of the plasma generator's current. Schematics are given for plasma generators' power-supply systems based on saturable reactors, thyristors, and insulated-gate bipolar transistors.
