Simulation of a Nonlinear Frequency Multiplier using the FDTD Technique

Nonlinear circuits are a key component in RFtransceivers. Efficiency and power requirements for 5Gcommunication are creating new challenges in simulation andmodeling of nonlinear devices. An application of the finitedifferencetime-domain (FDTD) method to nonlinear circuitscomprising diodes is demonstrated. A frequency multiplier isconstructed from a diode and a low-pass filter. The diode issimulated in the context of this circuit to demonstrate theformation of harmonics.
