Launching BAMI - BioPRIA's new BioProcessing Advanced Manufacturing Initiative

A recent highlight for the Australasian pulp and paper industry was the launch of the ARC funded BioProcessing Advanced Manufacturing Initiative (BAMI) combined with the opening of the Bioresource Processing Research Institute of Australia (BioPRIA), both of which are hosted by Monash University in Melbourne. The celebration -on Tuesday 16 September - also marked the 25th anniversary of the Australian Pulp and Paper Institute (APPI) and its evolution into BioPRIA. The diversity of those who attended on the night encapsulates the principles that underlie both BioPRIA and BAMI, drawing as they do on the combined strengths of researchers, industry and government in the development of new functional materials, green chemistry and green energy solutions that will benefit the community as a whole.
