Retail Technology Analysts Aren't Giving RFID A Fair Shake

In August 2009, a study was released documenting the 27 percent increase in Inventory Accuracy observed by Bloomingdale's. The retailer was trialing the use of RFID tickets in the denim category in one of its stores. Within days this was reported by relevant retail technology blogs and in the trade press. One of the blogs posted a link to an online discussion board frequented by retail technology experts and enthusiasts. The comments, while well intentioned, boiled down to this - these results are impressive, this is all very interesting, but it's a shame there is nothing in it for the consumer.
