This Fist Called My Heart: Public Pedagogy in the Belly of the Beast

For years, right-wing groups of all stripes have targeted me for my work with the late Paulo Freire, my writings on Che Guevara, my Marxist humanist analysis of capitalist society, and for the fact that I connect critical pedagogy with the struggle for socialism. My work in Caracas for La Catedra Peter McLaren at the Bolivarian University, my educational projects with La Fundacion McLaren in Tijuana, Mexico, and my affiliation with Centra Internacional Miranda, one of Venezuela's think tanks, has not endeared me to US neoconservatives.
