Non-destructive determination ofdyestuffs used for the Green colored yarn (X) in the ancient Chinese Brocade made in Ca. 16-17 centuries was performed by the 3-D fluoresc- ence method, using a quartz fiber optic apparatus. Because an ancient green is usually being made by double-dyeing with indigo blue and yellow natural dyes, standard green silks with a similar hue to X were prepared, using various yellow dyes; from Berberine (a), Amur cork tree (b), Coptics (c), Eulalia (d), Pagoda tree(e), Sumach (f), Gardenia (g) turmeric (h).
