摘要

Thermally addressed immunoassay is developed to detectnmultiple proteins using phase change nanoparticles asnthermal barcodes. The solid to liquid phase changes ofnnanoparticles absorb heat energy and generate sharpnmelting peaks, which are used as thermal signatures tondetermine the existence and concentration of proteins.nMultiple proteins can be detected by using different typesnof nanoparticles in order to create a one-to-one correspondencenbetween one type of nanoparticle and onentype of protein. The fusion enthalpy that is proportionalnto the amount of phase change materials has been usednto derive the amount of protein. The melting temperaturesnof nanoparticles are designed to be higher than 100 °Cnto avoid interference from species contained in the fluid.nThus, the use of thermal nanoparticles allows the detectionnof multiple low concentration proteins in a complexnfluid such as cell lysate regardless of the color, saltnconcentration, and conductivity of the sample.
