ABSTRACT: This study presents a three-layer competition-nbased assay for ultrasensitive detection and quantification ofnendoglin from unprocessed human urine samples using a giantnmagnetoresistive (GMR) sensor and high-moment magneticnnanoparticle-based biosensing technology. This biosensingnplatform detects as few as 1000 copies of endoglin at concen-ntrations as low as 83 fMwith high detection specificity and has anthree-order dynamic range. The results reveal that endoglinnlevels in urine have the potential to predict for the presence ofnprostate cancer and to distinguish between prostate cancers of different grades.
