This month, I want to use the ASA President's Corner to talk about journal publication decisions made at two recent ASA Board meetings—last December under Brad Efron and this March largely under Sallie Keller-McNulty. Other Board members playing major roles were Karen Kafadar, who led the 2004 task force that Brad created on electronic publications, and Denise Lievesley, who shared the publication experiences of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) when the RSS made a similar outsourcing decision some years ago.
