Technometrics is proud to announce a special virtual issue commemorating the scientific career of George E. P. Box, who died in March 2013. George Box was a remarkably creative scientist whose celebrated professional career was always at the interface of science and statistics. Together with J. Stuart Hunter and Cuthbert Daniel, he was instrumental in launching Technometrics in 1959.
