While Waterford's young journalists valiantly fought their war of words with the Rebels, they never quite lost sight of the softer side of the news. With the maiden edition of The Waterford News began a star-crossed "Marriages" column. There were, unfortunately, no marriages to report.rn"Young men, will you see this 'should be interesting' place vacant, when you could so easily remedy it?" the women asked. The second edition found the marriages column empty as well. Ever the optimists, the young editors reported that "we hope to be able to fill this vacancy ere long."
