Montana Tribes Choose Mobile UV Units to Disinfect Wastewater

The Salish Kootenai Tribal Reservation in northwest Montana has selected a mobile disinfection unit from Aquionics to treat wastewater at two remote wastewater treatment plants. The two plants, which are about 15 mi apart, are both small aerated secondary lagoon facilities that only discharge effluent one or two months each year. The Salish and Kootenai tribes had considered commissioning open channel ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems at each location, but the expense of this approach was a concern.
