Joint Agency Project Launches New Water Quality Portal

The US Geologic Survey (USGS) and US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) have teamed up with the National Water Quality Monitoring Council to launch a new Water Quality Portal (WQP) for water quality data. WQP brings together chemical, physical, and microbiological data from USGS's National Water Information System (NWIS) and USEPA's Storage and Retrieval Data Warehouse (STORET). NWIS provides water-resources data collected at 1.5 million sites in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
