Water Replenishment District of Southern California Commended for Commitment to Self-Reliance, Sustainability

The Water Replenishment District of Southern California (WRD) was recently recognized for increasing locally sustainable groundwater supplies and moving the district closer to eliminating the demand for water that must be imported from the Colorado River and the environmentally sensitive Bay Delta to keep local groundwater basins at sustainable levels. These and other achievements were recognized during the WRD's annual State of the District address to elected officials, water industry advocates, environmental leaders, and members of the public.
