Celebrating 100 Years

For the past eight issues, we have been publishing Pages From the Past, which do a much better job than I can in telling our readers how the Journal has contributed to the growth and development of our water community. In the last century, the Journal has provided a means of communicating the activities of the many arms of this vibrant organization. Most important it has been the critical element that binds us together because we are all "dedicated to the world's most important resource." Sprinkled throughout this issue are testimonials from members who say nice things about how the Journal has impacted their professional careers. For me, membership began in 1971, and I published my first article in the Journal in 1978. During those early years, the Journal was one of the most significant influences that convinced me that I wanted to be in the drinking water community for the rest of my career. As I grew into the profession, the Journal was always there to help me to the next level.
