Emergency Water Supply Planning, Part 1: Hospitals and Health Care Facilities

The Joint Commission (formerly the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) accredits hospitals for reimbursement under Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. The commission's standards require that hospitals must address the provision of water as part of the facility's emergency operations plan (EOP). It is recommended that health care facilities not accredited by the commission also address EWSP.
