County Official Urges Shift To Local Battlegrounds

Vail, co.-the Intermountain West continues to provide a significant portion of the nation's natural gas supply, and is the only major area experiencing growth, outgoing Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States President Logan Magruder pointed out during the association's annual meeting and summer conference.rnTo access that resource, the industry needs access to federal lands, Magruder observed during the June 21-23 meeting at the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail. "Fifty percent of the land in the Rockies is federally owned. It belongs to everybody in this room," he said. "We have as much right to access those resources as anybody."
