摘要

Houston-As time goes on and fields mature, the use of artificial lift is an ever-growing activity in the operation and production of tight gas wells. This is certainly the case in BP's operations in East Texas and North Louisiana, where BP operates 900 wells. The majority of these wells produce from the tight-gas Cotton Valley formation at 8,500-10,500 feet and Travis Peak/Hosston formations at 6,400-9,000 feet. The reason artificial lift is needed on these tight gas wells is that as pressures and rates decline over time with production, the wells begin to load up with water. Conventional forms of deliquefication using only a well's natural energy are no longer able to keep the wells unloaded.
