Education, Advocacy Remain Priorities

Following on the heels of its meeting a month earlier in Biloxi, Ms., the Liaison Committee of Cooperating Oil & Gas Associations continued to focus on industry efforts to educate the public and policymakers, during a Nov. 4 meeting held in New Orleans in conjunction with the Independent Petroleum Association of America's 2009 annual convention.rnDuring the Liaison session:rn1.IPAA Vice President of Government Relations Lee Fuller praised the Energy in Depth project for its rapid response to unfavorable media reports and other allegations of industry misconduct.rn2. Former Liaison Chairman Mike Cantrell of Ada, Ok., discussed progress in winning support among moderate Senate Democrats through overtures being orchestrated by the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance.
