Drilling Ban Lifted For Allegheny National Forest

A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction requiring the U.S. Forest Service to lift its moratorium on new oil and gas activity in the Allegheny National Forest, reports the Pennsylvania Oil & Gas Association. According to POGAM, U.S. District Judge Sean McLaughlin told the USFS in a Dec. 15 order that it couldn't invoke National Energy Policy Act requirements as a prerequisite before private oil and gas rights could be exercised in the ANF.
