Nonprofit To Raise Funds Through Oil, Gas Seminar

Kansas Next Step will hold its fifth annual oil and gas seminar Aug. 1-2 at the Fox Pavilion in Hays. According to the nonprofit organization, the event will raise funds to help students and teachers while providing geoscientists and engineers with information they can use to find and extract oil and gas more efficiently and reliably. KNS says many of this year's speakers plan to focus on geophysics: 1. Mike Burnett will present acquisition and processing techniques designed to yield high-resolution data capable of revealing subtle Kansas targets; 2. Wayne Hoskins will illustrate a software-driven approach to designing 3-D seismic surveys that collect the optimum data.
