Royal Dutch Shell Corp. confirms it has cancelled plans for exploratory drilling off Alaska's Arctic coastline, after a U.S. appellate court ruling raised questions about lease statuses and other obstacles. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit has ruled that the Department of Interior used inaccurate information on an environmental analysis that underpinned its 2008 Chukchi Sea lease sale (AOGR, February 2014, pg. 22).
