Deformational structures associated with gravitational block gliding: examples from sedimentary olistoliths in the kalvag mé lange, western norway

The Kalvag Melange on Froya, western Norway, shows complex deformational structures assigned to Early Paleozoic olistos- tromal activity. The earliest structures are extremely well preserved within the contact aureoles of large plutons, thus avoiding the common problem in ancient olistostromes of discrimination between syn- depositional and post-depositional structures.
