Treasury keeps tabs on freelance engineers

Freelance engineers can expect further government scrutiny, as it continues to pursue tax revenues in a review of how contracted workers are employed. The Treasury is to consult interested groups and employers for the first stage of the review. This aims to tackle the practice of disguising employment through so-called managed service company schemes, and enforce the employment rights of contractors who are treated as employees.
