Hans J. Morgenthau and United States Policy toward Africa

摘要

Although he never visited the continent, Hans J. Morgenthau was an astute observer of the trends in African history and geopolitics. This essay argues that from the evidence of the few writings that he directly addressed to the subject of Africa as well as the principles of political realism drawn from his work as a whole, a framework for policy analysis can be elucidated that has not only been proven to be historically prescient but also is still relevant in its normative orientations.
