Last month, Part 1 of this series gave an overview of a solvent that dry-cleaners have been using for more than 100 years. Yet there are a lot of cleaners in the business who have only used perc, so this is intended as a primer on the versatility of petroleum solvents. This installment includes comments from operators who have used petroleum for virtually all of their lives in the industry, as well as operators who changed their machinery to clean with the "new" solvent. I asked several people for comments; they agreed to tell what they think of petroleum drycleaning, and their responses may answer questions you have.
