When marketers refer to the five "basics" of marketing, they traditionally mean the five Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promotion and (the dry-cleaners' favorite) Production. These have been studied in much detail. The International Fabricare Institute (IFI) has asked me to cover marketing for an educational session at Clean '05 in Orlando on June 24. My topic? "The Five Basics of Marketing for Small Cleaners." Another speaker will cover the same topic for large cleaners.
