摘要

The most recent environmental legislations in developed and industrialized nations focus on significantly reducing fossil fuels’ combustion emissions and greenhouse gas emissions, by encouraging utilization of ultra-low sulfur and aromatics fuels. The search for ultra-clean fuels coupled with the world’s concerns about petroleum depletion and the increasing price of oil has intensified the search for alternatives to conventionally derived transportation fuels, including aviation fuels. X-to-Liquid (XTL) technology, where X refers to abundant natural resources such as coal, natural gas and biomass, became an attractive source for ultra-clean fuels such as diesel fuels; however, synthetic jet fuels are still facing challenges to acquire certification based on their characteristics. The synthetic GTL derived jet fuels, formally known as Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (SPK) are the focus of this current research work.
