摘要

The analysis of rock oil biomarker extracts using vacuum source electron ionization (EI) GC/MS/MS has previously been demonstrated to provide specific characterization of samples revealing important information about oil reservoirs such as source, age, maturity and level of alteration1. Knowledge of these properties is useful in a number of ways especially in upstream applications. Exploration and deployment activities based on these measurements allow effective application of resources in locations where they are most likely to be productive.
