摘要

To satisfy ever-increasing energy needs and tackle the daunting environmental issues, we have to consider alternative energy sources to replace the currently dominant fuels. Energy conversion and storage is becoming a challenging field. Effective electrode materials such as electrocatalyst is playing key role in an energy conversion or storage device. For example, although metal catalysts such as Pt and Pt-Ru are very useful in the anodic oxidation of methanol, the high costs and CO tolerance limit their practical application. Therefore, economical and effective alternative electrocatalysts are required in direct methanol fuel cells (DMFC).
