摘要

Addressing climate change and its deleterious effect on mankindrnengenders the need for the development of renewable energyrntechnologies. However, the intermittent nature of renewablerntechnologies such as solar and wind necessitates the development ofrnenergy storage media such as batteries. The most energy-densernbatteries currently commercially available are lithium-ion batteries,rnalthough in their current format have reached their practical capacityrnlimitations. This has created interest in developing newer batteryrnchemistries.
