Indigenous microbial enhanced oil recovery (IMEOR), which isnbased on the stimulation of indigenous microorganisms by introducingnoxygen and nutrition with water injection to improve oil recovery, hasngained attention from academic researchers and oil companies becausenit is environmentally benign, low-cost, and effective. In general,nbacteria can be categorized into two groups during the IMEORnprocess, namely, the harmful and the beneficial bacteria to IMEOR.nHydrocarbon oxidizing bacteria (HOB), nitrate-reducing bacterian(NRB), fermentation bacteria (FMB), and methane-producing bacterian(MPB) are beneficial while sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), totalngrowth bacteria (TGB), and Iron bacteria (IB) are harmful. Microbialnactivity in oilfields is capable of producing oil-releasing metabolites,nsuch as polymers, surfactants, gases, organic acids, and solvents.nConversely, up to 80% of all corrosion damage in oil field-operatingnmachinery were attributed to the metabolic activity of sulfate-reducingnbacteria (SRB) and Iron bacteria (IB)[1]. The objective of the presentnstudy is to identify the phylogenetic diversity of different physiologicalnmicroorganism groups via MiSeq platforms in the production andninjection wells of the Jing’an oilfields with the use of differentnstimulation modes.
