enhanced oil recovery in low permeability reservoirs. One method for enhancing hydrocarbon recovery in low permeability reservoirs first comprises providing an underground reservoir comprising one or more hydrocarbons and water therewith and a well bore in fluid communication with the underground reservoir. Next, a substantially anhydrous composition is injected into the reservoir through the wellbore. the substantially anhydrous composition comprises carbon dioxide and one or more surfactants. The composition is suitable to form a foam in contact with water within the reservoir. The method often results in well bore corrosion and reduced hydrate formation, reduced reservoir handling and enhanced carbon dioxide removal efficiency in conventional methods.
